Price and Specs

Price: 4.79$

Weight: 1/16 oz

A metal body with a flashy plastic piece for creating movement in the water. The tail hides a 3-way hook inside. This type of bait is made to mimic small bait fish. The flashy plastic, creates a lot of vibration and flashes, which are great for targeting pike, trout, and salmon.

Our Spot For Today

Today we're at the local river near the Sammamish bike trail. It's late evening right now, and the sun is going down in an hour. The water current is pretty slow today. I can't see much under the water with the amount of glare reflecting from the water surface.

Technique of the day

I'm using an ultralight baitcaster rod with 0.2mm PE line as usual. There's only one method in the book when using the spinning lure. Just reel in steadily. Pause a little bit now and then, but mostly just reel and let the plastic piece do the flapping work. I start by casting upstream, then keep moving down along the bank, using the water current to my benefit.

My thoughts

The lure is very simple, nothing much other than casting and retrieving. This would be my go-to lure if I just want to chill and enjoy the weather. Sadly, the current isn't flowing fast today. I can see the lure movement would shine in a faster stream.

Spinning Action

The motion is consistent. The plastic piece provides a tight, high-speed vibration that you can feel vibrating all the way to the reel handle if reel at a high speed.

Rating

8.5/10

Pros

  • Very easy to use, hard to go wrong.

  • The plastic piece's flapping motion causes a lot of vibration and flashes, which helps attract certain types of fish, like salmon.

  • Affordable and fair for its price judging from the material.

Cons

  • The main drawback is it can cause your line to twist, which is common with all inline spinners. You might need to invest in a good swivel for the lure to work best.

  • In muddy water, this color might not work the best. The plastic isn't shiny enough compared to some spinner lure models, which feature gold or silver-colored metal pieces instead.
