Price and Specs

Price: 7.14$

Weight: 10 grams

A famous Japanese beginner floating lure. plastic body, plastic-weighted on the head with two 3-way hooks attached on the bottom, both front and back. Another versatile lure for targetting freshwater fish such as bass, walleye, and trout.

Our Spot For Today

Today we're at the local river near the Sammamish bike trail again. The water current seems slow at first glance. However, after casting, I can feel the current under the muddy water is quite strong.

Technique of the day

Immediately, I tried the straight retrieving method first to see how the lure feels. I was surprised by the action of the lure. I didn't have to shake the rod to give it extra movement at all. It's already perfectly mimicking a panicked minnow.

My thoughts

Impressive action. I can see why Japanese lures are given so much praise in the market now. You can judge from the video. The lure wiggles sideways perfectly, showing a good bait distribution and design right there.

Very Reflective

The holographic finish on the lure body is very reflective and visible from far away. It definitely goes the same to the fish eyes, which is another huge plus.

Slow Sink Rate

I also tried pausing the lure midway to mimic a dying minnow action. The only downside part here is the lure takes an incredibly long time to sink, but that could be because the underwater current today is strong as well.

Rating

9.3/10

Pros

  • Fantastic action. You don't need to do much at all.

  • Very visible, great for clear water and a bright sunny day.

  • Definitely worth the price and praise for the experience.

Cons

  • Quite pricey for the same type of lure but a different brand.

  • Sink too slow for a fast-flowing current. Although, you could buy another one with heavier weight.
